Information we collect
We may process information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the app, and information needed to operate purchases, authentication, and analysis features.
- Account information, such as identifiers used to sign in or manage your profile.
- Imported conversation files or chat records that you choose to provide for analysis.
- Generated insights, summaries, cards, relationship labels, and app history.
- Purchase and entitlement status used to unlock paid features.
- Technical data such as device type, app version, logs, crash reports, and diagnostic events.
How we use information
We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Unrewind.
- To analyze imported data and generate in-app insights and visual cards.
- To save app progress, profile state, cards, and account-related settings.
- To verify purchases, subscriptions, or premium access.
- To detect errors, improve reliability, and prevent misuse.
- To respond to support, privacy, or account deletion requests.
AI-powered analysis
Unrewind uses third-party artificial intelligence services to analyze the conversation data you import and to generate insights, summaries, and cards. When you import a conversation file, relevant portions of that data may be sent to an AI service provider (such as Google or Anthropic) solely to produce your in-app results. We do not use your imported conversation data to train AI models.
Conversation data processed through AI services is handled under those providers' applicable data processing terms. We select providers that treat this data as confidential and do not retain it for their own purposes beyond the immediate processing request.
Imported chat data
You control whether you import conversation data into Unrewind. The app uses imported data solely to generate the insights and visual cards you see in the app. Your imported data is associated with your account in our secure database and is deleted when you delete your account. Do not import files that you do not have permission to use.
We apply technical safeguards to minimize the exposure of raw conversation content. Processed outputs (insights, summaries, cards) are stored in anonymized or pseudonymized form where possible. Raw imported files are not stored beyond what is needed for processing.
Third-party services
Unrewind relies on trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, crash reporting, payment processing, and AI analysis. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services and are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.
Depending on the current app configuration, this may include services such as Supabase (database and authentication), Apple and Google (app distribution and billing), AI providers such as Anthropic and Google, crash reporting tools, and similar infrastructure providers. These providers may be located in the United States or other countries.
Data retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. When you delete your account through the app, your account profile, imported conversation data, generated insights, and associated records are permanently deleted. Some minimal records (such as purchase receipts required by app stores) may be retained as required by law or platform policy.
Your choices
- You can choose not to import chat files at any time.
- You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app.
- You can remove local app data from your device using device or app settings.
- You can manage subscriptions and purchases through the relevant app store.
- You can contact us for any privacy question or data request.
Children
Unrewind is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No online service can guarantee complete security.
International users
Unrewind is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you acknowledge this transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted at unrewind.app/privacy with a new last updated date. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
